Katie and the Carnival

Katie teamed up with some of the best people on the Music scene to form Katie and the Carnival. They had the Audience rivitted to their seats as they played some of their latest and best material. Inspired by love, loss, bitterness, heartache and the dark depths of the imagination Katie and the Carnival tell stories and sing songs that display sensibilities both vulnerable and powerful. With an extensive background in choral music, Katie's songs are harmony driven with touches of the jazz, roots and blues music she grew up on. Add a contemporary twist, a few toy shop instruments and a healthy dollop of theatrics and there you have it! Their CD's are available from all Music Retail outlets

Irishwebtv.com were in PJ Duke Park Stradone for the Annual Novelty Football Match in aid of Local Charities

Drumlinmedia.com was in PJ Duke Park Stradone for the Annual Charity Football Match. This year it was in aid of the Oncology Unit at Cavan General Hospital. Sean Kelly organised this Sporting Extravaganza and it was supported by players from Laragh United GAA Football Club. Despite some rough play and bad language the game went off without controversy with no Yellow or Red Cards produced. The Referee Padraic Rudden was outstanding (in the middle of the Pitch only) in the role and overlooked some dodgy tackles and used very little wind in his whistle. The Game ended in a draw which was a fair result considering the effort made by each team. Please contact Sean Kely, Kilnagarbet, Stradone Co Cavan if you wish to make a donation to the Oncology Unit at Cavan General.
