Cavan institute Creative Exibition 2012 took place in Jacksons Showrooms Farnham Street Cavan from Friday 27th April to Thursday 3rd May excluding Sunday 29th April
  • NewsMultimedia Students Dare2Bdrinkaware is a digital film competition sponsored by drinkaware.ie and run by the Digital Hub Development Agency based in Dublin. Drinkaware, is a drinks industry-sponsored organisation promoting the “respectful consumption of alcohol”. The results are out on the Dare 2b Drinkaware competition, and one of our First Year Multimedia students, Paul Farnan, has come joint FIRST in the individual interaction competition with his entry "Home Party Quiz". All our second year Multimedia students, in three different film teams, reached the shortlisted finals, and we congratulate them on their good work in the films "Reflections", "The Water Bottle" and "Dare to be Drink Aware".
  • Art, Craft and Design Art, Craft and Design students display a range of work from Painting, Sculpture, Drawing and Printmaking. This is an invitation to the public to see the different minds, talents and imaginations used in the creative process by students when creating art.
  • Computer Games Design Computer Games Design concentrates on principles of designing computer games. The course provides exposure to all aspects of games development from initial concept, to storyboard creation and from design through the development stage culminating in fully functioning 2D and 3D games. Computer Games Programming concentrates on the development stage of computer games, and provides students with a firm foundation in the craft of writing computer programs and creating 2D and 3D computer games.
  • Furniture Design and Manufacture This year's Furniture Design class is displaying a selection of their individually designed pedestal tables, mirrors and other finely crafted items. Their pieces reflect the energy and intensity that the class group has shown in their efforts during the past year.
  • Make-up Artistry This course offers a professional qualification as a Make-up Artist. It covers all aspects of Make-up Artistry including Fashion, Theatre, TV, Film and Special Effects make-up. It combines the technical skills and artistic elements required of a make-up artist with a focus on fashion co-ordination, hair styles and special effects. As part of this course students create make-up looks for fashion shows, magazine shoots and theatrical performances in order to devleop a compreshensive portfolio of their work.
  • Multimedia and Web Design Students of Multimedia learn a broad range of skills in Computer Graphics, Video Editing, Interactivity, animation and web design. The emphasis is on using digital media for design purposes. Students gain experience in software programs such as Flash, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Cubase, Director, Illustrator and Final Cut Pro. The course, although theoretical, is also very practical and provides participants with a thorough understanding of multimedia development.
